Originating from Lebanon, Sheikh Ali Sbeiti was born in the holy city of Najaf in Iraq. He started his religious studies in Lebanon and continued them in Holy Qom. He immigrated to Canada in 1988 and later went back to Qom to complete his religious studies obtaining the level of “sutouh”. Some of his noted teachers were Ayatollah Ali Akbar Haeri (حفظه الله) and Ayatollah Said Waezi (حفظه الله). Sheikh Sbeiti is the Imam of the El-Hidaya Center in Montreal, Canada.

He founded several associations and community centres all across Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, Windsor, Niagra Falls, Vancouver, Edmonton). He is the author of several articles and books. He is an active member of several committees and bodies involved in the community and religious activities across North America. Sheikh Sbeiti speaks French, English, Arabic, and Persian.
